Denise Kindschi Gosselin, Ph.D. is a Professor Emeritus in the Criminal Justice & Sociology Department at Western New England University. Her major publications as sole author are Crime and mental disorders: The criminal justice response, 2nd ed. West Academic Publishing (2019); Family and intimate partner violence: Heavy hands, 6th ed. Pearson (2019); and Interviewing and investigation: Smart talk, 2nd ed. Pearson (2019). Dr. Gosselin is a certified instructor for Mental Health First Aid USA. She offers workshops for adults, offering modules in public safety and education certification through Cjtextbooks, Inc. Her classes have included human service providers, peace officers, dispatchers, first responders, inmates, and corrections staff. She served as a detective in major crimes for many years with a specialization in vulnerable children and adults. She is active in the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences and past member of its Executive Board. Dr. Gosselin is a past president of the Northeastern Association of Criminal Justice and member of the European Society of Criminology. Currently she serves on the Board of Trustees at Mt. Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA. Denise loves to travel and has been an invited speaker at numerous colleges and universities; presentations include West Point Military Academy, the Massachusetts State Police Academy, and the UN Congress on Crime in Brazil. She has appeared on the nationally televised “America’s Most Wanted” where one of her cases was profiled and the perpetrator caught. She has been recognized for service and contributions.
