Eleanor M. Nesbitt

关于作者

Eleanor Nesbitt's books tend to be about religion, especially on Sikh, Hindu and Quaker subjects. Examples are: Guru Nanak (co-authored with Gopinder Kaur), Hindu Children in Britain (co-authored with Robert Jackson), Sikhism A Very Short Introduction, and Open to New Light: Quakers and Other Faiths. Eleanor has taught in Naini Tal (India) and Coventry (UK), mainly at the University of Warwick, where she's now Professor Emerita. Over the years she researched religion in the lives of children and young people in many communities including 'mixed-faith' families. She also publishes poetry. Her forthcoming book, Sikh: Two Centuries of Western Women's Art and Writing, is bursting with beautiful paintings and photographs. In 2021 and 2023 respectively she received Lifetime Achievement Awards in the University of California (Riverside) and in Manchester Metropolitan University for her 'distinguished contribution' to the Punjab Research Group (UK) and to Sikh and Punjab Studies.
