Richard C. Aster

I am a Professor of Geophysics specializing in earthquake, volcano, and other aspects of seismology. I also have, since may days as an Electrical Engineering undergraduate, a great interest in seismological instrumentation and its pivotal role in advancing my science. Finally, I have longstanding interests in methodologies for using seismic and other data to resolve interesting physical properties of the Earth. I also have been involved in a number of research activities in Antarctica (and have worked on a number of field projects there) involving glaciology, volcanology, Earth structure, and seismic signals generated by the oceans.
