Charles P. Nemeth, Chair and Professor of Security, Fire and Emergency Management at John Jay College, has spent the vast majority of his professional life in the study and practice of law and justice, the role of private sector justice in a free society and the ethical demands on justice professionals. A recognized expert on ethics and the legal system, appellate legal practice and private-sector justice, he also is a prolific writer, having published numerous texts and articles on law and justice throughout his impressive career. His most recent works include these titles: Private Security and the Investigative Process (CRC Press, 2010); Introduction to Homeland Security (CRC Press, 2010); Private Security and the Law 4th (Elsevier, 2012); Aquinas and King: A Discourse on Civil Disobedience (Carolina Academic Press, 2010); Aquinas and Crime (St. Augustine's Press, 2009), Criminal Law (Prentice Hall, 2003; CRC Press 2011), Law & Evidence: A Primer for Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law, and Legal Studies (Prentice Hall, 2001; Jones and Bartlett, 2010) and Aquinas in the Courtroom (Greenwood and Praeger Publishing, 2001). In addition, he published were Private Sector and Public Safety: A Community Based Approach (Prentice-Hall, 2005), The Prevention Agency (California University of PA Press-ILPP, 2005) and The Paralegal Resource Manual (McGraw Hill 2008).
