Debra Pierce is professor of Early Childhood Education at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. Debra's professional background has always involved children. She has taught Kindergarten, primary grades, and high school students, as well as teaching in a NAEYC accredited preschool for 15 years. She has instructed high school students in career tech programs who are working towards the CDA credential and has served as a parent educator for the national Parents as Teachers program. She is active in her community promoting early literacy and is on the board of directors of First Book in Indianapolis. Debra has spent the last 13 years dedicated to the success of those pursuing the CDA credential. She is a CDA trainer and advisor, and has served as a CDA Council Representative. She is now a certified Child Development Specialist for the Council for Professional Recognition. Since 1998, she has hosted a website to mentor CDA candidates at http://easycda.com On her website, Mrs. Pierce offers popular and helpful tools for those working on a CDA, including pre-assembled CDA binders and workbooks to make the whole process stress-free. Debra also hosts a nationally syndicated blog on the BAM! Radio Network, develops and teaches CDA courses for several states, and travels across the country providing Train-the Trainer workshops.
