Rob Walters

I write all sorts of stuff. Initially I wrote technical books, but couldn't resist squeezing in some off-beat content to provide a little light relief. I managed to get a mention of Marilyn Monroe into a book on computers and telephones!

Nowadays I am fancy free, my first non-tech was about Hedy Lamarr, the famous film star and inventor, followed by a number of books about Oxford and one about the Cotswolds (my two homes in England). I have also written travel books and novels. My favourite of the latter is Shaken by China which is solidly based on true experience. I've also written a science fiction book.

I enjoy life as a city guide in Oxford and since the Covid lock-downs I have been creating videos based on my fascinating city. I find this new (for me) media a challenging but creative outlet. My channel is called Rob's Oxford.

Besides Oxford I spend time in the Cotswolds which has glorious walking country and in Spain where I have built a stone hut and I’ve written a book about it.
