Cat Urbigkit

Cat Urbigkit is an award-winning writer and photographer based on a western Wyoming sheep ranch where she receives much inspiration for her work.

She has written and photographed seven non-fiction books for children, as well as five nonfiction titles for adults. A firm believer in the power of the written word, Cat writes for several media outlets and blogs, and honed her writing skills as a newspaper reporter for more than a decade. Cat is also the co-owner and publisher of The Shepherd, a national monthly sheep industry magazine.

Cat is the author of a Wolf Watch news blog, and is a contributing writer to Stephen Bodio’s Querencia nature blog. Her photographs of ranch life and wildlife have appeared in numerous books and magazines, and her daily Facebook posts are popular.
