Colin M. Caplan is a New Haven, Connecticut native who devotes himself to a number of businesses and lines of work and study. He studied architecture and earth science at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, graduating with a Masters in Architecture. As an architectural designer Caplan focuses on historic preservation and adaptive reuse, and is a Historical Architect in Connecticut. Caplan is a historian specializing in New Haven and Connecticut history, a registered genealogist, a National Register consultant, film and television producer, and lecturer at schools and other public and private settings. He is author of seven published books on New Haven history including his most recent title, Pizza in New Haven. Caplan also runs Taste of New Haven culinary tours and events & Elm City Party Bike in New Haven, CT, Sanford Food Tours, Limo Cycle & Pedal Cruise in Sanford, FL, and Hipside Peddler in Austin, TX.
