It is obvious that Lisa Wysocky loves both books and horses! As an author and motivational speaker who trains horses for and consults with therapeutic riding programs, she stays really busy, but wouldn't have it any other way. First, the non-horse books. You may have seen the Hallmark Hall of Fame television movie, Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had. Lisa co-authored the book version with Brad Cohen. The book won a Foreword Book of the Year Award, among a number of other awards, and the movie version won a Faith & Freedom award. Happy dance! Lisa also co-authored Two Foot Fred with Fred Gill, and Walking on Eggshells, with Lyssa Chapman, a star of the reality series Dog the Bounty Hunter. Hidden Girl, co-authored with Shyima Hall, discusses Shyima's time as a child slave in Egypt and here in the United States. The book made the national bestseller lists in Brazil! Next, on to the horse books. Lisa's book and DVD, My Horse, My Partner, help horse/human partners form amazing bonds; and Horse Country, a beautiful four-color coffee table book, features many stars of country music and their horses. Her debut mystery, The Opium Equation, is an equestrian cozy mystery set near Nashville, Tennessee and features an unlikely cast of characters including a (possibly) psychic horse. The book won four awards, including a Mom's Choice award for fiction. The sequel, The Magnum Equation, won Best Equine-related Book from the American Horse Publications, the first time a fiction book had been awarded such an honor. The other books in the series have all won awards and the series has been optioned for film/TV. Lisa is a PATH International therapeutic riding instructor and has been chosen as one of the country's Top 50 riding instructors by ARIA. Her book Therapy Horse Selection helps horse owners who are considering donating their horse to a therapy program, understand what kind of horse a therapeutic riding center might need, and also helps centers find horses for their programs. As a speaker Lisa motivates people, and as an equine clinician she helps horses and humans connect in meaningful ways. She is also a substitute co-host on Horses in the Morning on the Horse Radio Network. If she had any spare time, she would enjoy Scrabble, hiking, reading, water sports, and Minnesota Twins baseball, not necessarily in that order. Lisa splits her time between Tennessee and Minnesota.
