I'm the author of the forthcoming, SISTERHOOD, INTERRUPTED: From Radical Women to Grrls Gone Wild (Palgrave / June 12, 2007), co-editor of the literary anthology ONLY CHILD: Writers on the Singular Joys and Solitary Sorrows of Growing Up Solo, a Fellow at the Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership, and a (new!) blogger. When I'm not blogging or writing books, I consult with a range of organizations that link research on women and girls' lives to media and policy. I'm co-founder of the webjournal The Scholar & Feminist Online and hold a doctorate in English and American Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
