Kate Leahy worked as a line cook in San Francisco, Napa, and Boston before writing about food and wine. Her first book, A16 Food + Wine, was the IACP Book of the Year. Her solo cookbook Wine Style, focuses on simple ways to pair food with wine while her forthcoming book, Italian Wine, is a deep dive into Italy's varied grapes and wine history. She lives in San Francisco, where she also co-hosts the podcast Everything Cookbooks.
