Mary M. Dalton is Professor of Communication / Film and Media Studies at Wake Forest University. Her documentaries have been screened at various festivals, museums, galleries, and libraries. Her scholarly publications include articles, book chapters, and the books The Hollywood Curriculum: Teachers in the Movies, Teacher TV: Seventy Years of Teachers on Television, and the co-edited volume The Sitcom Reader: America Re-viewed, Still Skewed. In 2015, she launched a Critical Media Studies series with an anthology of student essays on The Wire. When she's not at the movies or watching television, Mary enjoys knitting (which keeps her focused during meetings at work), cooking, reading, occasional gardening, and walking where she can see lots of moss and other wonders of nature.
