June Hall McCash

June Hall McCash is the author of sixteen books, including seven novels, eight nonfiction works, and a book of poetry. She was born in Newberry, South Carolina, and completed an academic career before becoming a full-time writer. Her book, ALMOST TO EDEN, won the Georgia Author of the Year award for first novel in 2011. It was followed by PLUM ORCHARD, which was the recipient of the Georgia Author of the Year Award for best novel in 2013. Her most recent publication, ELEANOR'S DAUGHTER: A NOVEL OF MARIE DE CHAMPAGNE, tells the compelling story of the oldest daughter of Eleanor of Aquitaine and earned first place in the Chanticleer International Book Awards for the Chaucer competition for Early Historical Fiction. Most of her academic career was spent at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where she was given awards for teaching, research, and career achievement. She has been a fellow with the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Council on Education. She holds both a masters degree and a doctorate from Emory University as well as an undergraduate degree from Agnes Scott College. In addition to her books, she has appeared in four documentaries about Jekyll Island, Georgia. McCash is frequent speaker for book clubs, library groups, museums, and various other groups and organizations. She loves to hear from her readers and to read their reviews of her books.
