An advocate for older adults, Missy Buchanan is a sought-after author and speaker on issues of aging faithfully. She has appeared several times on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts who describes Missy as "the rare soul that understands, truly understands, older adults: their fears, struggles and hopes." Missy was also the co-author of Robin Roberts' mother Lucimarian Roberts' memoir, My Story, My Song. In May 2023, Missy was asked to share insight for the BARNA research group's Aging Well report on ministering to and with older adults. She has been a speaker at hundreds of churches, senior living communities and aging conferences, including The Festival of Wisdom and Grace, American Society on Aging, and Educational Opportunities Tours. Missy's passion is to encourage and challenge older adults on the journey of aging, reminding them that they still have purpose until their last breath. After the death of her beloved husband Barry in 2023, Missy moved to the Texas Hill Country to be nearer her son's family, including three of her four grandchildren.
