Derrick Darby

Derrick Darby was born in New York City. His engaging TEDx talk, "Doing the Knowledge," tells the story of how discovering philosophy growing up in Queensbridge public housing projects set him on a long journey to becoming a professional philosopher. He is a Henry Rutgers Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Rutgers University. When asked, "What do you do for a living?" Darby replies: "I get paid to empower people with knowledge."
