Thomas Brophy has a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Colorado, was a research scientist at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, Boulder, with NASA interplanetary spacecraft projects, and was a National Science Foundation exchange scientist with the University of Tokyo and Japan Space Program. He then recombined his interests in fundamental physical theory with practice and philosophy of contemplative traditions to include the non-calculable and immeasurable aspects of the universe, teaching Integral philosophy, managing and developing a unique forefront research and Integrative teaching Institute in southern California, and his book The Mechanism Demands a Mysticism. The combination of Integral philosophy with astrophysical dynamics led to his studies of the astro-archaeology of pre-historic and proto-historic Egypt, and his book The Origin Map, and later the book Black Genesis: the Prehistoric Origins of Ancient Egypt. He has also worked in the IT/telecommunications industry, and found application for fundamental mathematical methods in gaming and investment theory. He now teaches Integral theory, archaeoastronomy, and related topics, and is proprietor of a consulting business. He has published peer reviewed scientific articles in premier journals including Icarus, Mediterranean Journal of Archaeology and Archaeometry, IEEE Journal, Science. He has been a featured presenter at numerous scientific conferences, as well as Integral spirituality symposia, in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
