Cheryl Miller Thurston is a Colorado writer, teacher, and musician who has published articles, books, poetry, plays, musicals, and music on a variety of subjects, as well as her first novel, DEATH BY ACCORDION. She is the founder of Cottonwood Press, Inc., a company that for over 20 years published innovative materials for teachers, grades 5-12, to use in the language arts classroom. (In late 2010, Cottonwood Press was sold to Prufrock Press.)
An accordionist from the age of 4½, Thurston is also the founder of Closet Accordion Players of America, a national organization that, with a sense of humor, encourages accordionists to come out of the closet and play proudly (www.ClosetAccordionPlayersOfAmerica.com).
