Tom Wareham was awarded a Doctorate by the University of Exeter for his original research into frigate command during the Napoleonic Wars. This research resulted in his first book 'The Star Captains' which has recently been republished in both printed and digital format. This was followed by the very successful 'Frigate Commander' and the 'Supplement to Frigate Commander' which, combined, gave unprecedented insight into the life and activity of a serving frigate commander during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. In 2015 he published his first novel 'The Wapping Conspiracy' - a thriller based on his research into the lost treasure of the pirate Captain Kidd. Until 2014 Tom Wareham was the Curator of Maritime & Community History at the Museum of London Docklands. He has also appeared in a number of television documentaries Tom Wareham also has a strong interest in nature, the landscape, and our relationship with it. He is also interested in Nature Writing and Nature Mysticism. In 2018 he published an updated edition of 'The Green Man of Horam' a study of the life and work of the author of 'Copsford', Walter J C Murray. He lives in south-east London. See less
