Jennifer Riesmeyer Elvgren

Jennifer's new picture book, THE EDELWEISS PIRATES, will be released on August 1, 2018. She is the author of THE WHISPERING TOWN, which has received The Prairie Pasque Book Award and The Andersen Prize (Italy). THE WHISPERING TOWN has been named a Jane Addams Honor book, an ALA Children's Notable book, a Sydney Taylor Honor book, a National Jewish Book Award finalist, and one of Booklist's Top 10 Spirituality and Religion Books for Youth. Another picture book, JOSIAS, HOLD THE BOOK, is a Bank Street College Best Books selection and a recipient of the Américas Award for Children's and Young Adult Literature. Jennifer's children's fiction has appeared in Highlights for Children, Ladybug, and Spider magazines. She lives in Albemarle County, Virginia, with her husband, three children, Caspian the Border collie, Copperfield the rescue Foxhound, Chance the rescue cat and Goodnight Moon the Quarter Horse.
