MITCH WEISS Mitch Weiss has been a general manager and company manager on and off Broadway for over thirty-five years. His shows include A Chorus Line, The Grapes of Wrath, Golden Child, Beauty and the Beast, Song of Jacob Zulu, On the Waterfront, and over 180 other shows. His career includes senior management positions at Disney Theatricals-International, New York Shakespeare Festival, Big Apple Circus, Barrington Stage Company, and Carnegie Hall. His personal management company MW Entertainment Group has worked with disco icons Village People, Broadway diva Karen Mason, Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis and pop sensation Ari Gold. Mr. Weiss has served on the Board of the Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers and has been a certified ATPAM manager since 1985. He is proud to have learned his craft working with the best producers and managers in the world including Harold Prince, Kermit Bloomgarden, Joseph Papp, Bernard Gersten, Robert Kamlot, Charlotte Wilcox, Elizabeth McCann and others. His latest nonfiction book was included in Top 10 lists on NBC-TV and London Press: "The Business of Broadway, An Insider's Guide to Working, Producing, and Investing in the World's Greatest Theatre Community." His first book "Managing Pop Artists in Music" is now in its second edition. Both books are published by Allworth Press, a subsidiary of Skyhorse Publishing. He is a graduate of Oberlin College, and is currently an adjunct professor at NYU's School of Professional Studies teaching a course based on his book "The Business of Broadway." As a theatrical director, he received acclaimed critical reviews from the NY Times, Daily News and more. His career began as a musical director in summer stock and a composer of five musical comedies produced on tour and in New York City. Honors include a "Broadway Salutes" service award and Big Brothers and Southern Poverty Law Center members awards.
