Adam Rhine is the artist behind the "Hebrew Illuminations" series which has sold more than 180,000 wall calendars, weekly planners, hardcover and coloring books since it began in 2004. Adam paints ornate, highly detailed Judaic watercolor paintings and his style is heavily influenced by medieval illuminated manuscripts combined with modern palettes and aesthetics. Born in Chicago in 1970, Adam grew up an incessant doodler and cartoonist and decided to pursue art at an early age. He graduated with a degree in Commercial Illustration from Northern Illinois University at age 22, and was awarded by a jury the opportunity for a one-man show of 16 abstract fine art paintings during his senior year, an award not commonly given to a student majoring in commercial art. In his professional life, he has animated educational videos, coordinated the 2D/3D animation department for a video game company, executed website design and e-learning development for major corporations, and acted as Creative Director of an industry-leading furniture manufacturing company. For the past 15 years he has been the senior manager of Digital Communications for a major healthcare insurance provider in downtown Chicago. Adam was interviewed by the Hallmark Channel to discuss his artwork and inspirations, and then by the Chicago Tribune in August, 2006 in advance of his book being published. His designs have also been featured on the covers of the Texas Jewish Post, Kashrus Magazine, The Jewish Exponent, and Chadashot Magazine. A major showing of his works was held at the Westchester Jewish Center in Mamaroneck, NY. Forty of his best-known Magen Davids and ten of the Hebrew Illuminated Letter Series were on display during the High Holy Days. Photos of this unique show are in the Facebook fan club, which is free to join. Adam is active on Facebook and Instagram, posting artwork six days a week.
