Gillian Price

Leading authority on walking in Italy, Gillian Price is a long-term resident of glorious waterlogged Venice, which she knows like the back of her hand. She spends much of the year exploring on foot breathtaking parts of Italy for her guidebooks and magazine articles, and is easily distracted by wildflowers, volcanoes, legends, gastronomical treats and wine.

Gillian has written over 20 guidebooks to the Dolomites, Stelvio, Gran Paradiso, Bernina, Alpine Flowers, Lakes Como, Maggiore, Garda and Iseo, Cinque Terre, Tuscany, Umbria, Apennines, Amalfi Coast, Sibillini and Sicily, as well as the Mediterranean islands of Corsica and Corfu, and Portugal.

She doesn't have a car and is a keen promotor of public transport - a clear message in all her books.
