Cameron Kent is a former Emmy Award-winning news anchor at WXII-TV in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Kent's newest book, The Sea is Silent, is a mystery/suspense thriller that takes place on a small island off the coast of Virginia. When Seth MacClellan, an ambitious white-collar crime reporter for a large newspaper in Atlanta, completely botches an investigative story, he brings shame and financial ruin to both himself and the paper. Also reeling from the loss of the love of his life, he tries to disappear and start over by taking a menial job as the fishing reporter with a small paper on the coast of Virginia. During late nights on a misty pier, he latches onto another investigative story that he hopes will bring him redemption as a journalist and perhaps even allow him to love again, but his relentless pursuit of the truth takes him down another ominous path that could end up killing more than just his career. Kent's last novel, The Road To Devotion, is historical fiction set in North Carolina just prior to the outbreak of the Civil War. The critically acclaimed novel was selected for Forsyth County's "On the Same Page" community reading event. It's now in development for a feature film. Kent is also the author of two previous books, When the Ravens Die, a suspense thriller set in modern-day London, and Make Me Disappear, a children's novel about the land where things go when they disappear.. His film credits include movies shown on NBC, HBO, Lifetime, and at the American Film Institute. He has also written a Christmas musical, "Welcome to Virginia", which will premiere at Theatre Alliance in Winston-Salem at the end of November. When he's not writing, Cameron is an avid runner and actively involved in Habitat for Humanity.
