Bonnie F. McCune

关于作者

Since fifth grade, when she wrote a poem about rain water in the gutter and submitted it to the Saturday Evening Post in a schoolgirl script (it was immediately rejected), Coloradan Bonnie McCune has been a writer. This led to a career in community relations and marketing for nonprofits. Simultaneously, she’s been a freelance news and feature writer. She has had work in local, regional, and specialty publications such as Denver Woman, 303 Magazine, Denver Magazine, Sasee and the Christian Science Monitor. She has worked for libraries, directed a small arts organization and managed Denver's beautification program. She is co-author of "Recruiting and Managing Volunteers in Libraries" (Neal-Schuman Publishers, 1995). Her civic involvement includes grass-roots organizations, political campaigns, writers organizations, arts groups, and children's literacy. Simultaneously, she’s been a free lance writer with articles in local, regional, and specialty publications. For years, she entered recipe contests and was a finalist once in the Pillsbury Bake Off. A special love is live theater. Had she been nine inches taller and thirty pounds lighter, she might have been an actress. She's never been able to lose that weight despite biking, wogging, weight lifting, and hiking under the tutelage of an extremely fit and enthusiastic husband. Her true passion is fiction, and her stories have won several awards. Never Retreat is her third novel and her fifth book of fiction. She and her husband have two adult children, and three grandchildren. For reasons unknown (an unacknowledged optimism?), she believes one person can make a difference in this world.
