Carol Vinzant has worked as a reporter for Spy, Fortune, and The Washington Post, explaining financial misdeeds for a general audience. She followed anti-abortion activists trading in fetal remains for Spy and how stock traders steal imperceptibly small amounts of money from the general public for Fortune. Vinzant’s 2005 book, Lawyers, Guns and Money, tells the story of a mass-shooting victim on a quest to stop further massacres put an end to an insurance scam that helped low-end handgun manufacturers. In addition, she’s written extensively about animals and kid-friendly activities for New York, The New York Daily News, and People. Vinzant now lives in upstate New York, with her husband, daughter, and two naughty beagles. She is a Girl Scout leader and monarch mom who wants to find a fun, effective way to talk about Trump to kids like her own. She started thinking about how to explain Trump to kids after a scout meeting where a smart girl scout argued it was wrong to make fun of the president. Vinzant graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Trump’s alma mater, which, according to the president, makes her “genius stuff.”
