I was born in a military hospital in Virginia and spent my childhood on Army Posts in and outside the U.S. After leaving home I joined the Army myself and was stationed in Germany. After my tour of duty, I went to the University of Colorado at Boulder, where I got my B.S. in Electrical Engineering, became a Christian, and met the woman of my dreams. We married between our second and third years of college and once we graduated, we both went to work for Hewlett Packard. I worked there for 20 years, she worked there for 5.
That is my background, but that does not tell you who I am and why I became an author. I write because since I was young, I have made up stories to pass the time. I found it enjoyable and relaxing. When I started telling stories to my four children, now all grown, they liked them more than the ones we read to them. After I left HP, I started the task of learning how to write so I could put some of the stories bouncing around in my head down on paper for others to enjoy. My first novel was published three years ago and my second novel was published this past October.
And here are some other random facts about me. About 7 years ago, on a bet, I started playing street hockey. I enjoyed it so much I continue to play almost every week. I also like hiking in our Colorado mountains. My wife and I love to travel around the U.S. and to other countries. We have visited 49 of our 50 states. Care to guess which one we have missed? I built my last house and I still enjoy a good construction project whether it is something I am building or helping a friend with their project. And I love doing things with my kids and grandkids.
