Part-time writer, full-time father, I live in Duluth, Minnesota, on the edge of the vast wilderness of Lake Superior and near the vast wilderness of the Boundary Waters and the Apostle Islands. We have more wolves than poodles here, though our standard poodle Chloe makes up a lot of the difference. I am well-trained, with a graduate degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana and a BA in Environmental Education from the University of Minnesota. I'm a lifelong resident of Minnesota, besides my journeys east and west for school. I believe along with Jim Klobuchar that the farther north you are, the closer you are to God. I love writing North Shore guidebooks. It's my opportunity to go out in the woods and think about the experience, then share it with my readers. For someone who's constantly balanced my love for the outdoors with my love for academics, it's an ideal blend.
