Juliet C. Bond, LCSW is an award winning writer and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In 2014, she was awarded a city-wide Volunteer Recognition Award from Northwestern University, the Evanston Community Foundation, and Evanston Township High School. In 2019, she won a distinguished alumni award from the University of Illinois School of Social Work. And, also in 2019, she was awarded a Points of Light Award. In 2014, she founded her own non-profit, COPE, an organization that provides free groceries and school supplies to Evanston residents. Her passion for stories led to her current work as the Director of Development at Piven Theatre Workshop. Juliet's first book, "Sam’s Sister," was published in 2005, and has sold over 50,000 copies. This book was re-released in 2016. The updated version has new illustrations by Linda Hoffman Kimball. It also contains resources for parents and children and was published in a soft cover to make it less expensive for families and agencies to purchase. Juliet also collaborated with Newbery winner Joyce Sidman to publish the stage adaptation of, "This is Just to Say." She completed a playwriting residency at Ragdale, and a fully staged production of her play, "Affluenza" in 2018 at Piven Theatre. Juliet has spent many years participating in workshops and writing retreats at the Highlights Foundation in Honesdale, PA. The "Jazzy's Quest" series started as a collaborative work with her amazing friend and co-author Carrie Goldman. Juliet is proud to work with such a brilliant partner. Their third book in the series debuts June 3rd, 2019! This one is set at Camp-to-Belong, a fantastic, true resource for adoptive and foster families. Juliet’s shorter works can be found online in the "SCBWI Prairie Wind," at the StoryStudio Chicago blogpage, and "The Copperfield Review." Juliet also teaches part-time for StoryStudio Chicago, teaching writing classes.
