关于作者

Ken H. Fortenberry is a nationally recognized investigative journalist and author who has earned more than 200 state, regional and national awards for reporting and writing.

Millions of Americans were introduced to the author when he was featured on the CBS News program “60 Minutes and the NBC “Today” show. He gained international recognition when his house was rocked by two explosions because of stories he published in the McCormick (S.C.) Messenger. His courageous coverage of corruption in local law enforcement led to a federal prison term for the sheriff, the bribery conviction of the sheriff's replacement, the exposure of the chief deputy as an ex-convict, and changes in state law enforcement. His first book, KILL THE MESSENGER, tells about his family's trials and tribulations and was optioned twice for a TV movie.

In 2020, the author’s lifelong quest for answers to an unsolved airplane crash that killed his father and 43 others aboard a Pan American airliner was detailed in his book, FLIGHT 7 IS MISSING: The Search for My Father’s Killer. It was published by Fayetteville Mafia Press, an independent New York City publishing house and has received rave reviews since it was introduced.

His latest book - THE FIELD ON HANGING TREE ROAD - is a novella about murder, mystery, politics and romance. More than a coming-of-age story that takes you back to the stormy 60s, this novella alternately tugs at your heartstrings and boils your blood.

Ken lives in Macon, Georgia, and is working on his next book, the true story of a woman who refused several pardons and spent most of her life behind bars in North Carolina's Central Prison before dying as an elderly invalid. She was serving life in prison for her role in killing her husband over an interracial love affair shorty after the end of the Civil War.
