June 2021: My eight book has just come out and my ninth will arrive this fall. Please check out "How to Draw Manga Animals: A Beginner's Guide to Creating Characters" and, come October, "Artist's Guide to Drawing World Wildlife: Essential Step-by-Step Lessons for Beginners", both published by Monacelli Press. I'm really proud of both books and hope readers will find them fun and informative. "Manga Animals" takes a look at character design and development. There's a visual language of shapes, colors, and forms that I find really interesting, as well as the verbal language of archetypes, all explored in this book along with many step-by-step instructions. In my "World Wildlife" book, numerous step-by-step instructionals can be found with details on drawing many different kinds of animals, ranging from their pupil shapes to the variety of horns, antlers, and hooves. I also want to thank for readers and supporters for their interest all these years. I appreciate everyone who has read my books, or left a response or a thoughtful review, whatever it might have been. Thank you. I hope to continue teaching, as well as learning and sharing my experiences with you. It's a journey- a wondrous one- and I'm thankful to share it with others who share my passion for art, anime, and animals. February 2019: I'm excited to say that my seventh book, How to Draw Magical Mythological Creatures: Create Unicorns, Dragons, Gryphons, and Other Fantasy Animals from Legend, will be arriving in May! It explores creatures from mythology, ranging from familiar favorites like dragons, unicorns, and gryphons, to lesser known ones like the makara, kirin, cockatrice, and even the jackalope. I hope it proves useful and inspiring to artists of all ages and skill levels! ***** December 2017: My new book, How to Draw Cats and Kittens, is now out and I'm thrilled to see such a positive response to it. I've enjoyed reading the reviews and want to thank my readers for their insights, critiques, and the drawing samples! I'm so happy to hear the books have helped people in their artistic journeys. I appreciate the support I've received from my friends and family. My work has received a number of awards and recognitions and has been published in both fine art magazines and comic books! My hope is to continue creating visual and written works of art that strike a chord with my audience and that express my love for the life that shares this planet with us.
