I've been a pastor over forty years, most recently lead pastor at West Park Church in London, Ontario. I'm now focusing on coaching, consulting, writing and speaking. My passion is NeuroMinistry, intersecting Biblical truth with brain insight to give leaders solutions that help them thrive in life and leadership. I love to learn, have earned five degrees, most recently my PhD. I also love dogs, popcorn, pizza, watching movies with my wife, and reading. I've written hundreds of articles that have appeared online and I've written seven books (the first two won a writer's conference award). My newest book intersects the latest neuroscience of learning and communication with what that Gospels tell us about how Jesus taught. It's called, "If Jesus Gave a TED Talk: 8 Neuroscience principles the master teacher used to persuade His audiences. My book on onboarding for ministry leaders is called "Every Pastor's First 180 Days: How to Start and Stay Strong in a New Church Job," a book on onboarding for seasoned and rookie pastors. My book on Christian mindfulness, is called "Holy Noticing: The Bible, Your Brain, and the Mindful Space Between Moments" (Moody Press). People Pleasing Pastors: Avoiding the Pitfalls of Approval Motivated Leadership came out Feb. 1, 2014 and was named by Outreach, Inc. as a 12th annual recommended resource in the leadership category. My fourth book Brain-Savvy Leaders: the Science of Significant Ministry was published in April of 2015. I've trained nearly 3,000 pastors in the US, Canada, Mexico, Nicaragua, Haiti, Cuba, and Colombia on leadership. You can learn more about me on my website, www.charlesstone.com.
