Andrew E. Masich, Ph.D, is President and CEO of the Smithsonian-affiliated Senator John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (on the web at www.heinzhistorycenter.org) and former Chairman of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (www.phmc.state.pa.us). He previously served as a museum director with the Arizona Historical Society and the Colorado Historical Society (History Colorado). Dr. Masich is an Emmy Award winning producer of historical documentaries and an adjunct professor of history at Carnegie Mellon University. He has authored Civil War in the Southwest Borderlands, 1861-1867; The Civil War in Arizona; The Story of the California Volunteers, and co-authored three other books with David F.
