Jim Supica is an expert on antique and collectible firearms and the owner of Supica Consulting LLC and https://GunHeritage.com. He is the Editor of the leading illustrated gun price guide, Standard Catalog of Firearms. In Jan. 2020 he retired as Director of the NRA Museums Division after a dozen years. In that role he oversaw the operation of the NRA National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, Virginia and the design and installation of the NRA National Sporting Arms Museum at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, Missouri. Jim is the author or co-author of eight firearms books and numerous articles, including the all-time best-selling gun book Illustrated History of Firearms and Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, the leading reference book on the subject. He wrote regular columns for American Rifleman and Shotgun News magazines. Supica has appeared as a gun expert on hundreds of television episodes including co-hosting five seasons of NRA Gun Gurus and has been regularly featured on Gun Stories, American Rifleman Television, and the Amazon Prime series American Guns. Jim has worked as a gun dealer, consultant, AGI certified firearms appraiser, and expert witness. An NRA Benefactor member, Jim was elected by the membership to three terms on the NRA Board of Directors.
