关于作者

Kathy L. Callahan, Ph.D. is a noted speaker and author with an educational background in Anthropology and comparative religion. She has presented dozens of workshops on spirituality over the last 25 years, contributed as an expert on invitational panels at conferences, and appeared on television and radio. Considered a “natural” writer, Kathy has the unique ability to blend the scientific perspective with a keen understanding of religious and spiritual traditions. Kathy has a passion for travel, having visited 17 countries, and so brings a wide range of experience and expertise to her books and articles. After moving to Hawai'i in 2013, she spent four years of academic study in the area of Hawaiian Studies, and also Ethnopharmacognosy (traditional plant medicine). Her latest book, Spiritual Beliefs and Religious Practices of Ancient Hawai'i, is the culmination of those studies. Kathy was born in Chicago, Illinois, and is proud to say she grew up on the South Side of Chicago. As a child, she showed a keen interest in other cultures, different religions, and the history of ancient peoples. That interest has carried over into her writings on metaphysical subjects, comparative religions and spirituality in general, in which she combines knowledge from her scientific background with universal spiritual truths. Her first book was based on the near-death experience of her ten-year old daughter, and the interfaith prayer network which came together during this remarkable experience. Kathy received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle, and a Master of Science degree from Purdue University. As a graduate student, she traveled to Tucson, Arizona, where she completed an assessment study of alcoholism treatment modalities for urban Tohono O'Odham (Papago Indians), for which she earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology in 1981, also from Purdue University. She was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy in 1982, and retired in 2012 at the rank of Captain, after more than 30 years of active service. A student of the Edgar Cayce readings for over 40 years, Kathy strives to actively apply the principles found in the readings in her daily life. She has been a student of A Course in Miracles for over 30 years and is also a certified Stephen Minister. A very compelling speaker and trainer, Kathy teaches courses and workshops on a variety of subjects including the evolution of consciousness, the process of co-creation, ancient mysteries, and the Universal Laws. She has presented seminars at A.R.E. Headquarters and field conferences, and has appeared on radio and television. She currently resides in Ewa Beach, Hawai'i.
