Lorna Czarnota

I am a story. Actually all of us are stories. I became interested in telling stories as a child when I realized I could scare my cousins. It wasn't until I was older that I discovered it as a profession, and realized my dad had been telling stories all my life. My work in story is both oral and written and I enjoy telling and writing stories I would want to hear and read, folk tales, fairy tales, fantasies, and histories but ones that are more than names and numbers. I love history that comes to life, explains the way we live and why we do things as we do. I also perform many historical stories and create living history experiences for the classrooms. I certainly hope that what I write brings history alive for my readers and listeners and brings that history to the now while speaking to the future. My work as a storyteller has taken me all around the United States, Canada and Ireland. My historical programs include the American Civil War, the Middle Ages, the Dust Bowl and Life in Colonial America. I am always happy to do readings and talks on my books, and conduct writing workshops as well. I work with all ages in a variety of venues. The main goal in my work as a storyteller and author is to create legacy and teach.
