Roy Santoro is a 40 year veteran of local TV news. He has won 9 local news Emmy awards, for writing and producing and a national TV writing award. He is also an avid backpacker and kayaker. His first work, "Tricks of the Trail" is a guide to what you need to know before you head out on to the trail for your grand adventure. It covers everything from what equipment to buy to what's inside that can of bug spray you bought. The book covers all of the mistakes he made, so you don't repeat them. His second work is "A Simple Guide to Retirement. How to Retire at 62" As the title suggests this guide hopes to take you down a different trail, the one that leads you to the beach, the lake or the magical place you dream of as you work every day. I wrote the guide because I retired at 62 and was bombarded with questions from family and friends about how I was able to do it. This guide answers those questions. Since I am getting old, I thought I would pass along some of the things I have learned in my days, from financial mistakes to getting lost in the wilderness. You can learn from what I have done wrong.
