Summer Hayes

Summer Hayes is an avid My Little Pony Collector as well as the author of several My Little Pony guides in The My Little Pony Inventory Series. Summer considers herself to be an expert in toys marketed to girls in the 1980s and 1990s, or as she prefers, an expert in all things “Retro Rainbows.” Throughout her time as a toy collector, Summer has curated a sizable collection and has always found the history of toys, the use of media to market them, and the play patterns children create using them interesting. In recent years, Summer has worked as a contracted brand promotor coordinating themed collector conventions throughout the US. She was interviewed and appears in season three of the Netflix series, The Toys that Made Us, and assisted the producers with historical product information to develop the My Little Pony episode. In addition to writing, Summer also enjoys teaching voice and theater to children, snuggling with her goldendoodle, Sprocket, and hanging out at Disney Parks with her husband, Matthew, and their two children, London and Everleigh. Summer resides in Tampa, Florida .
