Sean Deveney is a veteran sportswriter with an interest in the interplay between sports and history in America. He is the author of eight books, including his latest, The History of the NBA in Twelve Games, as well as Fun City, Greed and Glory, and Before Wrigley Became Wrigley. He is currently a writer for Heavy Sports and Forbes, and spent 20 years covering sports for The Sporting News. He has been front-and-center at 20 NBA All-Star Games and 18 NBA Finals, as well as two World Series, a Super Bowl, three NCAA tournaments and an NCAA football championship game. Interview subjects have included everyone from Charles Barkley, Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan to David Ortiz, "Mean Joe" Greene and Lyle Lovett. He lives in Massachusetts with his partner, Carrie, as well as his young daughter, Maisie, who is more interested in ballet than sports (so far).
