Diana Lindsay is the author, co-author, or editor/researcher of over 10 books, many of which have won multiple awards. Among her books are: OUR HISTORIC DESERT: THE STORY OF ANZA-BORREGO DESERT STATE PARK; ANZA-BORREGO DESERT REGION GUIDE; ANZA-BORREGO A TO Z: PEOPLE, PLACES, AND THINGS; MARSHAL SOUTH AND THE GHOST MOUNTAIN CHRONICLES: AN EXPERIMENT IN PRIMITIVE LIVING; RICARDO BRECEDA: ACCIDENTAL ARTIST; MARSHAL SOUTH RIDES AGAIN: HIS ANZA-BORREGO NOVELS; and COAST TO CACTUS: THE CANYONEER GUIDE TO SAN DIEGO OUTDOORS.

An award-winning photographer, her images have appeared in print in several monthly publications and books. Her investigative reporting skills were developed while working at the Texas tri-state newspaper, the Amarillo GLOBE-NEWS, where she also wrote a popular hot-line column for many years.

In 2001, she was named an "honorary ranger" in recognition for her three decades of volunteer work on behalf of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, and in 2013, she was presented the Medallion Award, the state’s highest honor for “superior achievement” in volunteer service. She currently serves as a trustee for the San Diego Natural History Museum.

Two of her books, Marshal South and the Ghost Mountain Chronicles and Ricardo Breceda: Accidental Artist, were named “best book of the year” by the Outdoor Writers Association of California in 2006 and 2013, respectively. She was subsequently named “best writer of the year” for OWAC in 2013.
