Christine was born in Portland Oregon and grew up in Maryland, a stone's throw from Washington DC. She was one of those kids whose papers were always returned, "Interesting ideas...Use a Dictionary." To avoid the dictionary, she first turned to music, and majored in Music History with a minor in Oboe at the Baldwin Wallace College Conservatory of Music. (Berea, Ohio, 1970). She kept body and soul together for a few years by free-lance playing, instrument repair, and managing a music store. Then one Sunday morning she heard a woman preach for the first time, at the Universalist church of North Olmstead, Ohio, and from that moment, she knew what she was supposed to do with her life. A proud part of the second generation of women in ministry, she attended the Boston University School of Theology (1980), and has served two churches, The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Columbia, (South Carolina) and The First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque, where she was recently honored for 20 years of service and for all of her interesting ideas. First Unitarian and she have thrived together; the church has almost doubled in membership, has nurtured one new church (in Rio Rancho) and three branches (in Edgewood, Socorro, and Carlsbad), and is known throughout the denomination for innovative and internet-aware ministry. Christine's interest in computers began the day in 1983 she heard the term, "spell-checker", and she has been known as a Geek-Minister ever since. Small Group Sharing has been an important part of the church's ministry and this book is the result!

Christine is married to William Baker and they have recently launched their only child to the college of his choice, thereby give them more time to spend with their backyard chickens. She blogs at iminister.blogspot.com, has an interpretation of the book of Psalms at doubterpsalms.blogspot.com, and can be found on Facebook.
