Mike Klaassen is an American author who writes both fiction and nonfiction. When his two sons were teenagers, he wrote two young-adult, action-adventure novels for boys: "The Brute" and "Cracks." A visit to the site of the Battle of New Orleans reignited his lifelong interest in history, and he wrote "Backlash: A War of 1812 Novel."
Driven by a passion for continuous learning, Mike delved into the art of storytelling, producing a series of books about the craft of writing fiction. These books offer practical guidance for aspiring writers and illuminate the processes behind compelling storytelling.
Fusing his love for folklore and his interest in writing fiction, Mike initiated “Klaassen’s Classic Folktales,” a collection that retells ancient stories as novellas. Through this series, he breathes new life into time-honored tales, offering readers of all ages a fresh perspective on these enduring stories.
In 2023, Mike began writing and publishing full-time after retiring from a career in accounting, investing, and banking. In 2024, as a proud father and grandfather, he wrote "Superpower Life Skills for Teens with Ambition: How to Master Resilience, Conflict Resolution, Teamwork, Money Management, Critical Thinking, and More to Become Your Best Self."
