Basharat Peer

Basharat Peer is an Opinion editor at The New York Times. Curfewed Night, his memoir of war in Kashmir, won India's Crossword Award for Non-Fiction and was chosen by The Economist, The New Yorker among its 2010 Books of the Year. He has worked as an editor at Foreign Affairs, edited The Times' India Ink blog, and written for The New Yorker, Foreign Affairs, Granta, n+1, The New York Times, and The Guardian. He also wrote the screenplay for Haider, an award-winning Bollywood adaptation of Hamlet.
