Kathleen Lockwood

Days after graduating from Regis College in Weston, MA, I married Skip Lockwood and stepped into the world of Major League Baseball. My honeymoon was spent on a road trip to Tiger Stadium in Detroit and Cleveland's Municipal Stadium where I received a totally different education provided by the major league baseball community as a Major League Baseball Bride. I spent the next tweleve years in the company of some exceptional women on six different teams all across the country as my husband was periodically traded and sold. Fourty two years later I am still in love with my husband and the game of baseball. Major League Bride: An Inside Look at Life Outside the Ballpark is my first book.

Two decades ago, as the mother of 5, I again was sustained by some incredibly supportive women as I battled breast cancer. I am now working on a book relating to this time, sharing some upbeat stories of warmth and empowerment.
