Nagapriya grew up in rural Gloucestershire. He studied philosophy at Leeds University, where he came into contact with Buddhist teachings for the first time. In 1992, he was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order. He holds a Master's in Religions from the University of Manchester as well as a PGCE from the University of Greenwich. His published books include: 'Exploring Karma and Rebirth' (2004), 'The Buddhist Way' (2018), 'Seeing Like a Buddha: the Four Noble Truths' (2020), and 'The Promise of a Sacred World: Shinran's Teaching of Other Power' (2022). Some of his works are now available in Spanish. Nagapriya has taught and thought within many different contexts, including the Manchester Buddhist Centre, Dharmavastu Buddhist Study Centre, and the University of Manchester. He currently lives in Cuernavaca, Mexico where he was founding Director of El Centro Budista de Cuernavaca.
