Scott McNeely has visited more than fifty countries by foot, camel, tuk-tuk and third-class train. On assignment for Lonely Planet and Fodor's, Scott's been chased by bandits in Honduras, kidnapped by kind-hearted hoteliers in Morocco, nearly lost (in the permanent sense) in post-revolutionary Romania, rescued by little kids on a remote Himalayan mountain, and frequently mistaken for an American spy in the teahouses of Istanbul. Scott's recent roles at travel companies Viator and TripAdvisor have left him hankering for his next big adventure. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
