My name is Susan Perrow.
I am an Australian whose 'work' passion is stories and storytelling. I am a writer, storyteller, teacher trainer and parent educator. For the last 30 years I have been documenting stories from other cultures, writing stories and telling stories to groups of children and adults - all this woven in with a career in teaching and teacher training in Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe and the US/Canada.
Current Work: Today my time is spent writing, consulting with teachers, parents and therapists, and giving keynotes/seminars on therapeutic story-writing. I travel internationally - from China to Africa, Europe to America and across my own sun-drenched land of Australia. When I am home I enjoy walking, cycling, kayaking, swimming, and family time.
My first book, 'Healing Stories for Challenging Behaviour', and my second book, 'Therapeutic Storytelling', have been translated into many languages, including Mandarin (simplified Chinese), Korean, Traditional Chinese, Spanish, Croatian, Slovenian, Serbian, Turkish and Portuguese. A modified Japanese version was released in 2013. Entitled 'Stories to Touch the Hearts of Children', it includes some new stories written for families that survived the 2011 tsunami.
My third publication is an illustrated collection, entitled 'An A-Z Collection of Behaviour Tales: From Angry Ant to Zestless Zebra'. My fourth publication, Stories to Light the Night, is a collection for grief and loss, for children, teens and adults.
I have also produced 4 booklets in an e-book series - 'A Spoonful of Stories' - each book with a different theme. My children's novel - 'The Adventures of Little Silk' - is currently in ebook form in English and print form in Mandarin.
