Jacky Hyams is a Brighton based journalist and best selling non fiction author.
She has written thirteen non fiction books, including three personal memoirs about post-war London in the 50s and 60s and several historical titles, THE FEMALE FEW, exploring the unique role of Britain's female Spitfire pilots in WW2 and BOMB GIRLS: BRITAIN'S SECRET ARMY, the hidden WW2 history of Britain's female munitions workers.
Jacky has also written a best selling book about the life of Frances Kray, the first wife of notorious East End gangster twin, Reggie Kray.
Frances Kray: The Tragic Bride, revealed the untold true story of Frances Shea. In the paperback version, published in September 2015, interviews and documents, never made public before,brought fresh insights into Frances' story, revealing a original and shocking perspective on the 1960s world of the Kray Twins.
Jacky's Spitfire Stories, a compendium of stories about the iconic plane was published by Michael O'Mara Books in October 2017. A paperback version, The Spitfire Story, was published in May 2019.
Two further WW2 titles, The Day War Broke Out, detailing the lives and events of millions in September 1939, and The Day The War Ended, were published in 2019 and 2020.
In June 2023, a further WW2 title, HURRICANE, the plane that won the War, was published by Michael O'Mara Books in hardback. A further paperback version is due in 2024.
