Betty is from a small town in Pennsylvania, the youngest of ten
children. She knew from a young age that she just had to break out of
the traditional rut and go see the world.
After graduating from Shippensburg University she got a job as a flight attendant for People Express airlines and then moved on to a major airline.
Betty has had exciting travel experiences all over the globe, camping in the Sahara, meeting orangutans, and hiking the Himalayas.
In 2005, she started a podcast called "Betty In the Sky With a Suitcase", (found at www.bettyinthesky.com) in which she shared the weird, wonderful, and
wacky things that happen on a plane at 35,000 feet. The podcast is reminiscent of an old fashioned radio show, giving listeners an insider's view of life in the air.
Betty currently lives near the beach in South Carolina and is still flying--so you might see her on your next flight.
