Biography "Maisie Parrish is often told she has magic hands, and when she begins to work something magical does indeed happen" quoted by her publisher. Her modelling career begin in 1989 when she experimented with salt dough. Being completely self taught, she created a range of characters, which at the time were quite unique. Her first order was from a buyer from a large London store. This was how her company Maisie Dough began. She subsequently wrote two doughcraft titles A Doughcraft Workstation and A Doughcraft Funstation which are now out of print. She was soon asked to contribute to a sugarcraft magazine and it was then that she first started to work in sugar, and had to teach herself how to do three dimensional figures, and how to cover a cake. Well the rest is history and an international career continued. This year sees the completion of her 12th published title for David and Charles "Maisie Parrish's Naughty Cakes." The title does suggest it is naughty, but also very nice. She is pushing the boundaries a little with this one, as there are lots of naked bodies, limbs, and facial expressions to create, as well as standing figures. As ever everthing has the Maisielicious touch, with lots of humour, so look forward to seeing this one in March 2014. Maisie's work is easily recognisable, and very much copied, and her many fans travel across the globe to be taught by her at Maisie's Sugarcraft Academy in Stoke on Trent. They are a truly international affair, and she continues to create and entertain her students as she generously shares her unique modelling skills. You can find out much more about her and her class on her lively website www.maisieparrish.com
