Terence Samuel

Terence Samuel is a journalist and writer with more than 25 years experience as a reporter and editor at newspapers, magazines and web journalism outlets. He is a former national correspondent at the Philadelphia Inquirer and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and served as the chief congressional correspondent at U.S. News & World Report for five years. He was a director of editorial programming for AOL Black Voices before joining the Washington Post Company in 2007 to help launch TheRoot.com, an online magazine of commentary and analysis aimed at an African American audience. His work has been published in The Village Voice, The (UK) Guardian, Washingtonian Magazine and newspapers across the country. He is a featured contributor to the Best American Political Writing of 2009 (Public Affairs, October 2009). He has appeared on PBS' Washington Week, Hardball on MSNBC, CNN, CNN International, Fox News, as well as on international media outlets including the BBC and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. He lives in Washington, D.C.
